Volunteering

The Kids Research Institute Australia welcomes and appreciates all enquiries regarding volunteering opportunities.

The Kids Research Institute Australia welcomes and appreciates all enquiries regarding volunteering opportunities.

Due to the large number of enquiries we receive, we may not be able to accommodate all requests.

For volunteer enquiries, we are only able to consider Australian citizens or permanent residents. All volunteering arrangements longer than two weeks will require a current National Police Check and if you are working with children, a Working with Children Check will also be required.

Please note, given the current circumstances around COVID 19, volunteering opportunities are currently limited. Additionally, all visitors to Perth Children’s Hospital will be required to provide proof of vaccination, plus proof of having recieved a third dose within one month of becoming eligible.

If you would like to volunteer with the Institute, you will be required to send through a CV, availability (dates/times) and confirmation of being an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Detailed instructions on how to submit these documents can be found here.

In addition, people wishing to become volunteers for The Kids will need to meet certain criteria, these requirements support volunteer participation and aim to ensure their safety and the safety of all others in the workplace.

Please be aware that Volunteers will not be able to volunteer in the laboratories, cryogenic facility, clinical suites at all work sites or bioresources.

All other enquiries can be sent through to peopleandculture@thekids.org.au.

Discovery Centre

Do you have a passion for science and research? Are you enthusiastic and energetic? Do you have two hours spare a fortnight?

Consider volunteering in The Kids Research Institute Australia Discovery Centre!

Volunteers play one of the most important roles in our Discovery Centre – they help kids play and understand the games. They are educators, entertainers and sometimes dictionaries. All the games in the Centre are linked to the research being done by the Institute so as volunteers you’ll probably learn something too!
