Visiting The Kids

Find out more about visiting The Kids Research Institute Australia in regards to address, parking, public transport, and Institute tours. We're looking forward to seeing you!

In August 2018, The Kids moved to our current facility at the Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) on the QEII Medical Centre campus - the largest centre of excellence in healthcare, research and education in the southern hemisphere.

You can find us at:

  The Kids Research Institute Australia
  Northern Entrance
  Perth Children’s Hospital
  15 Hospital Avenue
  NEDLANDS WA 6009

With a footprint across seven floors of PCH, our purpose-built facility features more than 7000sqm of work space and 2000sqm of laboratories, as well as dedicated clinical suites and a cryogenics facility. Our co-location with the Perth Children’s Hospital will enhance our collaboration with clinicians, nursing staff and other allied health professionals, leading to better care, better treatments and better health and development outcomes for our children and young people.

Our home was generously funded by both the State and Federal Governments, designed by architects Woods Bagot and built by Multiplex.

Visitors’ parking is available on the ground floor of the multi-level carpark opposite the northern entrance to the hospital, which is accessed via Winthrop Ave.

I’ve arrived at Perth Children’s Hospital. How can I get to The Kids Research Institute Australia?

If you are travelling to The Kids, please be aware of the changing carparking arrangements at PCH. All visitors are required to enter via the Main Entrance and exit via the Northern Entrance.

As always, our Concierge desk is located to the right of the Northern Entrance, as you walk up from the Main Entrance. They will assist you in meeting your contact person and accessing our facility on Level 6 and 7 of the building.

Do you run open days for families?

You can visit us at the Discovery Centre, which is generously supported by Lotterywest.

Located on the ground floor of the building, the The Kids Discovery Centre will be a fun and engaging educational space that teaches kids about science and health research, while also giving families a behind-the-scenes look at the types of research undertaken at The Kids.

The Discovery Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is free to enter and play!

My child is being treated at Perth Children’s Hospital. How do I learn more about opportunities to participate in research?

There are many ways to be involved in our research – as a participant in one of our studies, as a consumer helping to shape the research or as a fundraiser.

To find out how to get involved, visit our Participate in Research page.
