Administrative Assistant - Infectious Diseases Epidemiology

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic and motivated Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to Team Leads, researchers and staff members in the Infectious Diseases Epidemiology team and assist in ensuring the efficient functioning and achievement of goals within allocated time frames. This position would suit someone with excellent administration & organisational skills who is a team player.

This is a Part-time role for a fixed term of 12 months with the possibility of extension. The FTE for this position is 2-3 days per week and is flexible dependant on the successful applicant.

The Role

This role would suit someone who has a broad range of administrative skills and experience.  The position will require someone who is adept in multi-tasking and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.  These will include diary management, agenda and minute preparation, travel arrangements and supporting grant applications, and project budgets/finance.

You will be part of a dynamic and growing research team, with flexible hours to allow a work/life balance.

The Experience

The successful applicant will have the following skills/qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience providing support with financial management
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and to set priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in a standard array of software packages (e.g., Windows suite)
  • Self-motivated, flexible and friendly

The successful candidate will be asked to provide a satisfactory National Police Check, and Proof of working rights in Australia prior to commencement.
