Dr Anthony Bosco’s laboratory has an opening for a casual postdoctoral position in systems immunology. The position is part of a larger effort to establish a competitive personalised medicine program at The Kids Research Institute Australia.

The postdoc will be involved in applying state of the art computational approaches for genomic data analysis, network inference, and personalised genomics.

A strong focus of the position will be to identify the molecular states that underpin phenotypic states, and identify actionable targets for therapeutic intervention. Data will be generated from diverse experimental settings, including birth cohort studies, human clinical trials, and experimental animal models.

The position represents an exciting opportunity to work at the crossroads between basic science and clinical practice. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team comprised of biologists, molecular biologists, clinicians, statisticians, mathematicians, and computational biologists.

The successful candidate should have:

Essential requirements for the role:

  • Demonstrated experience with genomic data analysis using R and Bioconductor
  • Experience in the statistical analysis of RNA-Seq and microarray data analysis
  • Network analysis of genomic data
  • Documentation of analysis results using Rmarkdown or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience using bioinformatics tools such as Ingenuity Systems, Innate DB, Cytoscape
  • Experience in the analysis of next generation sequencing data
