Manager, Research Governance

Drive the research governance practices and frameworks of the Institute to ensure good research governance and scientific quality

The role is an essential strategic appointment to support the Institute in achieving best practices of research governance to ensure scientific quality, ethical acceptability and safety of the research conducted under the auspices of the Institute.

We are looking for someone with a passion to enable quality to achieve outcomes through the key position responsibilities:

  • Developing a program for quality assurance and a research governance framework
  •  Research governance strategic enabler

The successful person will:

  • Have a University degree relevant to health and medical research or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Have a sound knowledge of the research regulatory landscape and requirements that apply to research gained by training and experience
  • Work with little supervision, a self-starter and prioritize own work load in response to time frames and deadlines
  • Be well organized with time management skills
  • Have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills with excellent customer focus skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and resolve complex problems in a timely manner
  • Have experience in policy development
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in managing governance frameworks  - e.g. risk, policy and compliance
  • Positively influence others to engender change
  • Have experience managing projects
  • Commit to the values and mission of the Institute

This role will sit within a broad team of specialists operating within platforms that directly support research programs. These platforms span Clinical Research, Data Services, Bioinformatics, Bioresources and Biostatistics.

Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging. You must have a current National Police Check to be considered for this position.
