The Opportunity

Led by Professor Andrew Whitehouse, the Autism Research Team, based at The Kids Research Institute Australia, are international research leaders in the understanding of autism. In 2018, CliniKids was established within the The Kids Autism Research Team. CliniKids is a new clinical service providing intervention and diagnostic services for young children with developmental delays and/or autism spectrum disorder, and their families. This unique collaboration creates an exciting opportunity to blend clinical practice and research in a clinical setting. Key to CliniKids is the close measurement of outcomes for children receiving services, as well as the prompt translation of new intervention-research findings into practice.        

The Role

We are seeking expressions of interest from clinicians with backgrounds in occupational therapy to join CliniKids. This is a recruitment pool for Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments, with possibility of extension. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and experienced therapist who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children. Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging.

Experience

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in occupational therapy
  • Experience providing clinical services to pre-school children with autism
  • A passion for providing evidenced based approaches in healthcare, particularly with children with autism or developmental disabilities
  • A strong work ethic with a flexible, collaborative team approach

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant qualifications in appropriate profession
  • Current membership with Professional Association 
  • Current Working with Children Check

Desirable Criteria

  • Accreditation and/or training in one or more of the following assessments/interventions: ESDM, PRT or PACT

The successful candidate will be asked to provide a Working with Children's Check and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
