OSH Coordinator

The Opportunity

The People & Culture team are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to fill a newly created position of OSH Coordinatoron a 12-month part-time contract. This role can be fast-paced and demanding and requires the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to deadlines. Working closely with the OSH Business Partner you will be joining a professional and passionate team based at the new Perth Children's Hospital!

The Role

This role is primarily operational in nature and will require a hands-on approach.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Updating current safety documents, policies and systems in line with relevant legislation when required
  • Assist with the reporting of, and investigation of, incidents and hazard managament, including remedial actions
  • Provide training, advice and assistance to staff to allow them to achieve their safety responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, applying corrective and preventative actions as required;
  • Support the OSH Business Partner by maintaining OSH records
  • Assisting the OSH Business Partner when required with Injury Management and Workers Compensation

 About you

You will have the following attributes:

  • Ability to influence and motivate others, building positive working relationships.
  • 3+ Years OSH experience with knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of incident investigations and hazard management principles.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyse issues and engage with key stakeholders to identify options.
  • Well-developed time management, organisation and administrative skills.

 This is a part time position, 3 days a week, fixed term for 12 months.

The successful candidate will be asked to provide a satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
