The Fraser Mustard Centre is seeking a Personal Assistant to provide the team with administrative and organisational support.

The Fraser Mustard Centre, named in honour of leading Canadian researcher and former Adelaide Thinker in Residence Dr Fraser Mustard, has been created to bring together leading Australian child researchers and innovative government policy makers and planners.  Based in Adelaide, the Centre is a research collaboration between the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) and The Kids Research Institute Australia.

The Kids Research Institute Australia has a proven track record of successfully translating research findings into actions that make a real difference to the lives of children.  By working with the Department for Education and Child Development, key decision makers have first-hand access to the research that provides valuable insight into the development, education, health and wellbeing of children and young people.

The Personal Assistant is responsible for the smooth and successful running of the Adelaide office.  Key tasks include:

  • Management of all incoming correspondence and queries, responding/referring on as appropriate
  • Team diary management including the coordination of meetings, events and teleconferences.
  • Travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, and visa card reconciliation
  • Website maintenance
  • Preparation of meeting agendas and minutes
  • Project management (including organisation of project tasks and staff, monitoring project progress).
  • Drafting reports and editing documents
  • General administrative support to team members

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will have had experience working in an administrative role. A degree or qualification in a related field will be considered favourably but is not essential. The following skills are essential to making the role a success:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Strong written language skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities
  • A high level of initiative and willingness to learn
  • Ability to undertake ad hoc duties as requested
  • A professional, friendly and positive manner
