Personal Assistant/Administrative Assistant - Children's Diabetes Centre

The Children's Diabetes Centre is based at the Telethon Kids Institute and Princess Margaret Hospital (www.childrensdiabetescentre.org.au) and was established in 2015 by a Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Australia. Living with this chronic and incurable disease has a major physical, emotional and financial impact on individuals and their families. Our uniquely holistic research program incorporates state-of-the-art technologies, therapies and education that are all aimed at improving the quality of life for young people with Type 1 Diabetes.

The opportunity:

The purpose of this role is to provide effective personal administration support to the Co-Directors of the Children's Diabetes Centre. The position also supports the work of the research team to enable smooth functioning and achievement of goals within time constraints.

The role:

  • Assist and manage the Co-Directors' with diary management, monitoring and responding to emails and prioritising correspondence, organising meetings and handling travel arrangements.
  • Event management including organising team events and staff functions
  • Ensuring all invoices and payments are processed and maintaining the centres finance filing systems
  • Provide support to the Research Manager for document management including the formatting/typing of correspondence, submissions, agenda's and presentations
  • Coordination of submission process for grants and funding opportunities from national and international institutions and funding bodies, and post-award activities such as progress and financial reporting
  • Assisting the research team with administrative activities as required
  • Managing office requirements including printers, petty cash, stationary and study archiving.
