The Ear Health Team are currently working on developing an innovative ear and hearing health and telehealth program for children in WA while continuing to build on an established cohort for early surveillance of Aboriginal ear health in metropolitan Perth.
The Ear Health Team is involved in a diverse range of projects, with additional opportunities to lead or collaborate on epidemiological studies, clinical trials, vaccine and health services research and in addition, has close links to clinicians at Perth Children's Hospital.
The Opportunity:
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Post-doctoral Fellowship which will enable a Post-doctoral Scientist or Clinician to establish a track record in ear and hearing health research.
The Fellow will have the opportunity to develop their own research plan and apply for the independent funds from external funding agencies.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and experienced Post-doctoral Scientist or Clinician. Key responsibilities include:
- Creation of innovative research programs and study designs, with an initial focus on development of telehealth programs
- Analysis of data from a range of sources along with the conceptualisation, preparation, submission and resubmission of manuscripts
- Leading the translation of research findings into the public domain and to other research and stakeholder group
- Project management and documentation relating to the research activities
Experience:
To be successful in the role you will possess:
- PhD in Audiology, Public Health, Telehealth, Child Health and Development or related discipline (within the last 5 years, or intention to submit within six months) or Clinical qualifications in medicine, nursing, audiology or a related field
- Knowledge and experience in ear and hearing health and telehealth
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience in publishing papers in refereed international journals
- Experience in data management and statistical analysis including experience in one or more statistical software packages
- Ability to represent and promote your research in policy and service settings and the community
- Strong analytical abilities and practical experience in quantitative analysis
The successful candidate will be required to provide a Working With Children Clearance and a satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
This is a part-time role fixed term for 18 months.
