We are looking for an experienced computational postdoc to join the Genetics and Rare Disease Program lead by Timo Lassmann. The major focus of this work is to employ statistical machine learning approaches to leverage information from large public data sets, including the human cell atlas, in the interpretation and analysis of patient's exome, genome and transcriptome data.
The applicant should have experience in data analysis and a strong biological background. The position represents an exciting opportunity to work at the crossroads between basic science and clinical practice. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to be part of a truly inter-disciplinary team composed of molecular Biologists, Statisticians, Computational Biologists and Clinicians.
Responsibilities:
- Development, assessment and application of novel approaches to analyse clinical genomes
- Preparation of first author manuscripts
- Training of junior scientists in data analysis and interpretation
- Contribution to grant applications and reporting
- Fostering local and international collaborations

This is a full time position fixed term for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Salary range will be between $80,000 to $101,000 depending on experience. Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging.
The successful candidate will need to provide a current National Police check before commencement.
