Program Manager, Infectious Diseases Implementation Research

Role providing project and business management support in day to day running of clinical research studies

The Infectious Diseases Implementation Research Team, within the Wesfarmers Centre of Vaccines and Infectious Diseases, are looking at new ways to conduct clinical trials to observe and measure the effectiveness of vaccine programs, explore new prevention strategies through disease modelling and provide real-world results that are immediately applicable. We use a range of methods to conduct our research, including pragmatic randomised controlled trials, observational comparative effectiveness studies and data linkage studies.

We are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious and skilled individual to be part of an energetic and interdisciplinary research team. The key objective of the role is to provide project management support to the Infectious Diseases Implementation Research Team, providing oversight and coordination to a broad range of clinical trial, applied epidemiology, and translational research projects in the field of vaccines and infectious diseases. The dynamic working environment requires candidates to have strong organisational skills and to work productively in a team setting.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Relevant experience in an administrative and business capacity
  2. Effective business administration and people management skills
  3. Ability to use initiative and take leadership
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated interpersonal skills
  5. Demonstrated capacity to provide expertise and liaise with large teams across multiple simultaneous projects
  6. Proven organisational and time management abilities

This is a part time role, approximately 2.5 days a week, for one year, with the possibility of renewal. Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging.
