Childhood Allergy and Immunology Team - Project Coordinator PrEggNut

Food allergy now affects one in ten Australian children, with egg and peanut the most common allergic foods. We are undertaking this research trial with the aim to determine whether mothers regularly eating more eggs and peanuts during pregnancy and breastfeeding will reduce food allergies in their infants.

The Project Coordinator PrEggNut will be required to oversee and coordinate the daily activities of this multi-site (Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne) trial, including the recruitment, intervention and clinical follow-up activities. This role will supervise and train the Research Nurses and Research Assistants and liaise with the Chief Investigators and ensure appropriate reporting and governance procedures are in place and adhered to. The Project Coordinator PrEggNut will liaise between the clinical research staff, data management services and laboratory activities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Experience working in research focusing during pregnancy and/or lactation and/or infancy
  • Experience in coordinating research projects, including randomised controlled trials
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • High personal motivation and ability to work independently
  • Possession of a current WA drivers license and your own transportation
  • Ability to travel to interstate trial sites for staff training and trial monitoring Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, data management and analysis programs
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate excellent team working skills as well as ability to work using own initiative
  • Time management skills/ability to prioritize workload

This is a 22.5 hours per week position fixed term contract for 1 year with the possibility of extension, commencing between mid-late April and end of May 2018. Remuneration package includes an annual salary of $85,239 per annum (pro rata) plus access to generous salary packaging.

The successful candidate will need to provide a WWCC and a current National Police Certificate before commencement.
