Project Manager - Athena SWAN

This position is responsible for project management of The Kids Research Institute Australia’s Athena Swan Bronze Award application.

Athena SWAN

Science in Australia Gender Equity's (SAGE) Athena SWAN is a national program promoting gender equity and gender diversity in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM). The Pilot program requires participants to collect, analyse, and present data on gender equity policies and practices in STEMM departments, as well as identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
 
The Role

This position is responsible for project management of the Institute's SAGE Athena SWAN Bronze Award application. This will involve the coordination of data extraction, analysis, and reporting. This will form the basis for The Kids' action plan and final submission for the Athena Swan Bronze award in March 2019.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Providing daily operational management to ensure smooth functioning of day-to-day project activities
  • Ensuring compliance with requirements for the Athena SWAN Bronze Award
  • Coordinating project documentation including any project plans and action planning
  • Overseeing the collection of human resources and other data relevant to gender and diversity
  • Building relationships with key groups contributing to the Athena SWAN program
  • Manage reporting requirements in line with both Institute and Athena SWAN expectations


 The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience with gender equity/diversity/inclusion programs
  • Proven high level knowledge and experience in project management and delivery of required  outcomes in accordance with specified time-lines
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, preferably in a university/academic environment
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to deliver information to a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of the Institute and with key external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and resolve problems; be proactive and initiate action to deal with issues when they arise
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with software such as the Microsoft Office Suite


You must have a current National Police Check (current up to one year) to be considered for this position. Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging benefits.
