Project Manager, Big Ideas

Assist Research Focus Area Heads in developing "Big Ideas" proposals to meet the Institute's strategic goals.

The Kids Research Institute Australia recently launched “Think Big” collaborative research project - the next phase of our research strategy and area of strategic investment. Think Big will utilise our research teams, networks and community partners to develop big ideas which could lead to large programs of research that tackle key issues that impact on child health and wellbeing. Think Big was developed by the Research Focus Area Heads and the Institute Leadership Team. The Research Focus Area Heads will continue to play a pivotal role in the development of the Big Ideas.
A Project Manager will be critical to assist the Research Focus Area Heads in developing these “Big Picture project” proposals over period July  - December 2017.  The Institute is now calling for applications to fill this exciting and strategic role.
This role will be responsible for coordinating and assisting with the design, writing and implementation of development plans for large collaborative multidisciplinary proposals.
 
This position provides a liaison with key stakeholders within the Institute and provides coordination and oversight of large multidisciplinary grant proposals.
The position works closely with Research Development, Deputy Director, Heads of the Research Focus Areas and the broader community in providing advice, support and leadership.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • ­Experience in research grant application development
  • ­Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • ­Demonstrated high level project management skills.
  • ­Experience working with teams
  • ­Demonstrated understanding of current research and health policy issues and challenges within the medical and health research sector.
  • ­Proven ability to provide strategic advice to support senior management.
  • ­Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
