Research Assistant - Leukaemia Research

We are looking for an enthusiastic scientist with strong expertise in experimental cancer research.

We are a collaborative group focused on the goal of improving outcomes for children with leukaemia. The Research Assistant will work in a research team to study the interactive mechanisms between leukaemia and surrounding cells as well as to evaluate novel therapeutics in preclinical models. We offer an interesting job in a very motivated and dynamic team with a friendly working atmosphere.

The successful candidate will:

  • be able to work as part of a team;
  • have a BSc (Hons)/Master degree with experience in medical research;
  • have experience in animal models of disease including colony maintenance, performing injections, dissection;  
  • have experience in cell biology (in vitro cell culture)
  • demonstrate knowledge of research methodologies;
  • be confident to work independently;
  • be able to manage multiple priorities and a demanding schedule;
  • possess superior interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills;
  • have excellent planning and organisation skills and attention to detail

This is a full time, fixed term contract for one year starting in January 2018, with possibility of extension.
