Research Assistant – CRISPR/Epigenetics

Be involved in creating and applying epigstate of the art CRISPR genome editing to proof of concept scientific problems and functional genomic studies

This position is part of a larger effort to establish an integrated solution for a next generation genomics program at The Kids Research Institute Australia. Be involved in creating and applying epigenetics and state of the art CRISPR genome editing to proof of concept scientific problems and functional genomic studies. The work will lead to the creation of a clinical pipeline utilising omics approaches and will contribute to the creation of a clinical pipeline utilising omics approaches to improve a patients' wellbeing.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology or a related discipline
  • Demonstrate experience in cell biology (in vitro cell culture) and working with mouse models
  • Demonstrate knowledge of research methodologies
  • Work as part of a team and participate in group meetings while confident to work independently
  • Be able to manage multiple priorities and a demanding schedule with excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Possess superior interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Pay attention to detail  
  • Good computer literacy (Apple and PC, Microsoft Office)


This is a full time position, for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Remuneration package includes access to generous salary packaging.

The successful candidate will need to provide a current National Police Check before commencement.
