The Role
The YODA-F (Youth Depression Alleviation - Fish oil) Trial is a multicentre clinical trial to test whether omega-3 fatty acids combined with cognitive behavioural case management are an effective treatment for young people (aged 12 - 25 years) with moderate depression. The role is support the recruitment and assessment of young people in the trial at headspace in Midland.
We are looking for a motivated and passionate research assistant to join the team based at headspace Midland. The successful applicant will assist in the recruitment and clinical assessment of participants to the study, working alongside an experienced research assistant. This role would suit applicants interested in youth mental health, who are quick learners and keen to gain experience in mental health research.
Experience
- Experience working with young people and people with mental health issues
- Research experience
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with young people
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships and working collaboratively with key stakeholders at various levels
- Demonstrated ability to set goals, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships and working collaboratively with key stakeholders at various levels
- Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work with and respect diverse peoples, including Aboriginal, culturally diverse and gender diverse people
- A car and willingness to drive within the Perth metropolitan area is essential. Car travel is reimbursed.
