The Research Officer for skin infection research will be based in Broome and the primary role will be to assist in the conduct of research activities related to a skin infection trial - The SToP Trial (a stepped wedge cluster randomised trial).
This trial will test an evidence based, streamlined comprehensive clinical treatment regimen including environmental health and health promotion activities to reduce the burden of skin infections in various locations throughout the Kimberley including remote communities.
In preparation for the trial, this 6 month contract (with possibility of extension) will have a focus on assisting with consultation and negotiations with stakeholders, and developing educational and training resources that will be used when the trial is implemented. Future contract extensions will focus on the addition of study coordination responsibilities.
- Candidates should be passionate about clinical research, working with vulnerable and low resource populations and working in a supportive and dynamic work place environment.
- The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager out of the The Kids Kimberley office in Broome.
- The role will also involve extensive travel throughout the region.
- The ideal candidate will reside in the Kimberley region and have local knowledge and experience working with remote Aboriginal communities.
- There is a strong potential for this contract to be extended for work on trial implementation over the next 3 years.
