The Opportunity

The Brain Tumour Research Program and Oncogenic Signalling Laboratory are collaborative groups composed of clinical and lab-based researchers focused on the goal of improving outcomes for adults and children with brain tumours. Our research includes identifying mechanisms of cancer development, generation of appropriate models of these diseases, evaluation of novel therapeutics and translation of discoveries into the clinic. We offer an interesting role that will support this program, in a very motivated and dynamic team within a friendly working atmosphere.

The Role

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for enhancing the research productivity of the The Kids Cancer Centre by using their critical analysis and editing skills to improve written grants and manuscripts, leading to enhanced outcomes in funding and publication.

Your Experience

The successful candidate will have the following skills/qualifications:

  • A PhD in a medical research related field
  • Exceptional writing skills, both administrative and scientific
  • High accuracy and attention to detail, with excellent proofreading skills
  • Demonstrable time-management and organisational skills
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately under minimal supervision
  • Excellent computing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in online manuscript and grant submissions
    • Initiative and ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
