Information for primary school communities

Members of primary school P&Cs and P&Fs are invited to share their thoughts on what information and support they would find helpful to promote positive digital technology use by their students.

Thank you for your interest in the Cyber Friendly Primary School Project.

We are conducting the Cyber Friendly Primary Schools Project to better understand schools’ and parents’ needs around children’s use of digital technology, and what information and support they would find helpful. This project will be developing resources to support parents, schools and P&C/P&F committees to promote positive digital technology use by children, with fewer risks to their safety, development, privacy and wellbeing.

Members of the primary school P&Cs and P&Fs, councils and boards are invited to share their thoughts on schools’ needs and what information and support they would find helpful to promote positive digital technology use by their students.

Eligibility

Eligible members of the school community include:

  • A member of a WA primary school board or council
  • A member of a WA P&C or P&F

What is involved?

You will be asked to participate in a 20-30 minute telephone or face to face interview at a time most convenient for you. The information you provide will help to ensure the developed resources include the information and support that school councils/boards and P&C/P&F committees and parents would prefer and find helpful.

Please read the School Community Information Form for more information on the project. Note: that the decision for you to participate in the study is voluntary, and entirely up to you. Your decision will not affect your child’s grades, or your or their relationship with their teacher(s), or with the school or with The Kids Research Institute Australia.

How to participate

If you or your school would like to contribute to the development of this intervention, please provide your contact details here. A member of the project team will then contact you directly and arrange a convenient time to complete a phone or face to face interview. The information you provide will be kept confidential and anonymous.

If you have any questions, please contact Candice Browne on (08) 6319 1812 or by email at cyberprimary@telethonkids.org.au.
