Dr Matthew Ankers is a Research and Evaluation Officer in the Early Years Systems Evidence team.

His most recent work investigated child development and health, including nurse interventions that helped re-integrate children into mainstream health and social care systems.

This work complimented his wider research into vulnerable children and their families, both in Australia and internationally, on subjects including the impacts of poverty, homelessness, pandemics, and the work NGOs undertake to help address these issues.

Several of these themes formed the basis of his PhD, received from Flinders University, which investigated the capacity raising activities of Non-Government Organisations working with disadvantaged children in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
