Sarah is a software engineer who joined MAP in May 2021. Her focus within the group is on the development of applications and tools to support the collection, analysis, and modelling of epidemiological data. So far in MAP, her projects have ranged from building machine learning classifiers that sort malaria journal articles, to COVID-19 modelling and synthetic population creation using Java and Python.

Before joining the MAP, Sarah worked as a software engineer at Rio Tinto, developing software tools for data reporting and analysis. Prior to this Sarah obtained her BSc, majoring in Software Engineering and English Literature, and MPE (Masters of Professional Engineering) in Software Engineering, from the University of Western Australia.

Modelling the COVID pandemic with the Geographical COVID-19 Model (GEO-COV)

Researchers have developed a new model for simulating covid-19 outbreaks in Western Australia.
