Tim Pesch
Model development team, Research Officer
BSc Mathematics, MSc Mathematics
tim.pesch@research.uwa.edu.au
Tim studied pure mathematics and graduated with a Master of Science degree from RWTH Aachen University. He secured an Australian Research Council scholarship to support his PhD project working on lifetime prediction of technical assets. During this project he also worked closely with an industry partner to analyse successive failures of bauxite wash tanks. His PhD thesis focuses on component inter-dependencies of load share systems with cascading failure characteristics. His Master and PhD projects made Tim an expert in sequential and censored order statistics. His research interest in models of ordered random variables and reliability theory will soon be complemented by geospatial modelling as he joins the Model Development team at MAP. Tim is excited to apply his statistical skills in pursuit of a Malaria-free world.
