Sam is a Senior Project Coordinator of the Suicide Prevention team. In this role, Sam provides project management, research and administrative support to the Suicide Prevention research projects. Sam has research experience in youth suicide prevention using qualitative methodology, as well as experience in crisis counselling and program management. Her passion and interests centre around improving mental health outcomes and reducing the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia.
Projects
Development of a universal aftercare model for people who have presented to the emergency department for a suicidal crisis in WA
The Mental Health Commission (MHC) of Western Australia has provided funding to The Kids Research Institute Australia to undertake exploratory research to inform a WA approach to aftercare.
The Youth Safe Haven Café Project
The Youth Safe Haven Project will co-design a youth-specific Safe Haven Café within the Peel Health Hub to serve as an alternative to the emergency department for young people at risk of suicide.
