Telethon Institute Researchers Win National Funding

Researchers from Perth's Telethon Institute for Child Health Research have been awarded more than $4 million in competitive grants from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

The grants were announced today by the Minister for Mental Health and Ageing, the Hon Mark Butler MP.

Institute Director Professor Fiona Stanley said the NHMRC grants were crucial in funding research into child health issues ranging from asthma to nutrition to childhood brain tumours.

"These successful applicants again reflect the high quality of research being undertaken here at the Institute," Professor Stanley said.
