Telethon Kids Institute and Staples join forces in new supply partnership

Staples has been appointed as Telethon Kids Institute's exclusive supply partner for stationery and workplace supplies, ICT equipment and print services.

The Telethon Kids Institute and leading office supplies company Staples have signed a supply partnership that not only delivers exceptional value in the supply of goods and services but which will also support an exciting new initiative to raise much needed funds for vital child health research.

Under the new partnership, Staples has been appointed as the Institute's exclusive supply partner for stationery and workplace supplies, ICT equipment and software and print-related services.

In addition, Staples will launch of significant cause-based marketing initiative which will see a range of specially branded stationery items created under the banner of the Telethon Kids Institute to be promoted around Australia and supplied into businesses, government organisations and schools.  A significant portion of the profit raised from the sale of these items will be donated to support the research at the Institute as part of Staples' commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Nick Wood, Acting Chief Operating Officer at Telethon Kids, said the new partnership with Staples was not just about establishing an optimal arrangement for purchasing goods and services but also centred on creating a long term strategic alignment that creates real value. "Staples has shown an extraordinary commitment to supporting our research and we are delighted that they share our commitment to making a difference to the health and wellbeing of children," Mr Wood said. "The new cause-based marketing initiative between our two organisations will raise national awareness of the Institute's important research and provide an avenue for businesses, governments and even schools to support the Institute simply by ordering these specially branded items.

"We are excited to have Staples on board and are extremely grateful to their Board and staff for their vision and for getting behind our research through this fantastic initiative."

Nathan Hughes, Staples' Regional Sales Director for Western Australia, said that Staples was pleased to become a strategic partner of the Telethon Kids Institute. "By becoming a supply partner of the Telethon Kids Institute, I feel that we are making a difference and providing a solution that ensures the Institute spends the maximum amount of funds on research rather than on products and services that are not 'core business'," he said.

Mr Hughes said Staples' work in supporting the community was a key part of the value they provide to their associates, customers and stakeholders. "Globally, our strategy is to support organisations that help disadvantaged kids through education or job skills, but locally we look to go further to support all Australian children to have a bright future," he said.

"I feel this is truly aligned to the Telethon Kids Institute where kids are at the heart of everything they do."
