This year sees WA's much loved Channel 7 Perth Telethon reach a huge milestone, with 2017 marking the annual event's 50th year of fundraising in support of children’s health.
Generations of Western Australians have grown up with the televised fundraiser over the past five decades, with thousands of individuals, families, companies and others donating their hard-earned cash every year to selflessly help others in need.
All those donations have combined to deliver more than $231 million to the Channel 7 Telethon Trust over Telethon's lifetime - in turn funding vital services, much-needed medical equipment, and critical research into serious diseases affecting children and young people.
It wouldn't be Telethon without special guests and non-stop, madcap entertainment, and this year's Telethon Weekend will be no different. Stars from Seven Network shows including Sunrise, The Morning Show, The Daily Edition, Sunday Night, My Kitchen Rules, House Rules, Home & Away, and 800 Words will be in town, with live performances from Leo Sayer, Darryl Braithwaite, Pseudo Echo and many more.

The Institute's own Jonathan Carapetis and Fiona Stanley will also feature throughout the Telethon Weekend, taking part in the panel, visiting the phone room and joining the closing ceremony.
