Today we celebrate our first anniversary within the Perth Children’s Hospital!
Moving into our new home was a massive accomplishment – a journey that began way back in 2008 and required the relocation of millions of medical samples, around 60 truckloads of offices, labs, bioresources and IT equipment, and packing and unpacking more than 2,500 crates.
In just twelve months since moving to the new location, we’ve managed to achieve some significant outcomes, including:
- Launched our Strategic Plan for 2019-2023 – our blueprint for the next five years to achieve our vision of happy healthy kids
- Opened CliniKids – our new clinical service providing intervention and diagnostics services for young children with autism spectrum disorder
- Launch of Embrace – our new mental health research centre
- Opening of Discovery Centre – our new interactive educational space on the ground floor of the hospital
- Strengthened our commitment to gender equality by submitting our Athena Swan Bronze Award
- Welcomed Professor Tobias Kollmann to lead our involvement in the Human Vaccines Project – making us the first international hub for the project.
