We're looking for a Director, Strategy and Innovation to join our executive team

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Strategy and Innovation to join The Kids Research Institute Australia in Perth, WA.

This is a unique role which offers applicants the opportunity to lead the strategy and implementation function across the full range of innovative priorities and projects for The Kids Research Institute Australia and be at the centre of transformational change at the highest level.

As a member of the Executive team reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working with the Board, you will lead a portfolio charged with identifying and developing new strategic possibilities and priorities, working closely with leaders across the Institute. In this new role, you will be responsible for internal and external coordination, consultation and planning to progress the development and management of high profile and essential projects, so will need to ensure productive relationships are developed and maintained throughout the Institute with the key internal and external stakeholders.

This role would suit a leader who is passionate about strategic leadership, complex project management, innovation and commercialisation with a demonstrable track record developing and translating strategy into meaningful long-term achievements which will transform the Institute.

You will be a collaborative team player who has proven ability to motivate your teams; to enhance their capability and to execute the Institute's vision and strategy. As someone well regarded for their strategic mindset, you will be recognised for your expertise in delivering change in complex environments. 

As a committed leader dedicated to maximising the capability of the Institute to continue to deliver its Vision: Happy, healthy kids the key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Exceptional leadership skills at an executive level with the ability to provide contemporary, future focused and innovative organisational strategies and transformation across a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to understand broader business issues affecting the Institute.
  • An ability to provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive and other members of the Executive Team through analytical assessment of trends and emerging issues.
  • Demonstrated experience building a high-performing team, providing coaching and development opportunities across the breadth and depth of a complex team that delivers high service delivery and technical output standards. Proven ability to hold a team accountable to specified results and create a culture that fosters innovative problem-solving, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications, ideally with postgraduate qualifications.
  • Actively demonstrate commitment to Institute values through day-to-day behaviour and interaction with peers, staff and other stakeholders.
