The HBF Run for a Reason is back and if you’re looking for a reason to take part in this year’s event, let it be child health research.

The HBF Run for a Reason is back and if you’re looking for a reason to take part in this year’s event, let it be child health research.

The Kids Research Institute Australia is proud to be running in the 2024 HBF Run for a Reason on Sunday, 19 May.

At The Kids, discovering why is what we do. After being named the largest team from any participating charity in 2023, we are back again powered by our passion to make a difference for child health research.

A day full of fun, fitness and fundraising – the HBF Run for a Reason presents a unique opportunity for our supporter community to run alongside The Kids Research Institute Australia researchers, students, and leaders as we all run for the same reason – happy, healthy kids.

If you’re thinking about running, walking, wheeling, or jogging in the upcoming event, let the research speak for itself. It’s a fantastic opportunity to become part of a team, meet like-minded people and feel physically and mentally healthier.

We know that staying physically active is an important part of a healthy lifestyle but for kids living with rare neurological diseases like Rett syndrome, physical activity improves their quality of life.

The Kids Research Institute Australia researchers have worked alongside families and kids with rare neurological diseases to co-design a dedicated resource –  ActiveRett to support and inform parents and care givers.

Members of our ActiveRett co-design team have shared some of their favourite tunes to move to.
