Abstract:
Climate change and its health impacts are increasingly recognised by the world's leading medical organisations and journals.

However, to date, there has been insufficient focus on the health impacts on children, and even less so on the role of paediatric health professionals, in under-resourced settings.

Although the impact of climate change is already apparent, the worst effects will undoubtedly be faced by future generations of children.

Considering that children in developing countries experience nearly all of its health burden, the future impact on them will undoubtedly be enormous.

Paediatricians are well positioned to demand health equity and to draw attention to their plight.

This sheer injustice is possibly the most compelling argument for swift and decisive action.
