Abstract:
We have developed a PCR-high-resolution melt (PCR-HRM) assay to discriminate nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae (NTHi) colonies from Haemophilus haemolyticus.
This method is rapid and robust, with 96% sensitivity and 92% specificity compared to the hpd#3 assay.
PCR-HRM is ideal for high-throughput screening for NTHi surveillance and clinical trials.
