Project description
This trial will determine whether BCG vaccination reduces the incidence and severity of COVID-19 but also whether BCG vaccination reduces other respiratory illnesses in healthcare workers.
This will be of particular benefit among healthcare workers and high-risk groups for whom contraction of the disease would have the greatest impact.
The results of this trial will establish whether, in future novel disease outbreaks, BCG vaccination could be implemented as an early intervention to protect healthcare workers and high-risk groups.
