The Community Food and Environment Study aims to investigate changes in dietary behaviours and perceptions of the local neighbourhood in areas that have experienced a change in their local food environment, such as increased or decreased food availabiltiy.
Research of this nature is important for the development of programs and policies aimed at improving neighbourhood environments and food access.

The Community Food and Environment Study is led by researchers from The Kids Research Institute Australia (Dr Gina Trapp, Lead Investigator), The University of Western Australia (Dr Paula Hooper & Dr Siobhan Hickling, Chief Investigators), Deakin University (Assoc/Prof Lukar Thornton, Chief Investigator) and the University of Notre Dame Australia (Justine Howard, Chief Investigator).
